Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is better to use printed material such as books and articles to do research than it is to use the internet. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

范文:

In today's digital age, the internet has become an indispensable tool for research. However, I believe that printed material such as books and articles are still better sources of information than the internet. There are several reasons why I hold this opinion.

Firstly, printed material is more reliable than the internet. Books and articles are usually written by experts in their fields and have gone through a rigorous editing process before they are published. On the other hand, anyone can publish anything on the internet, regardless of whether they are qualified or not. This means that there is a lot of misinformation and biased opinions on the internet, which can be misleading for researchers.

Secondly, printed material is more focused than the internet. When you search for information on the internet, you often get thousands of results, many of which are irrelevant to your research. This can be overwhelming and time-consuming. In contrast, printed material is usually more focused and organized, with chapters and sections that are clearly labeled. This makes it easier for researchers to find the information they need quickly and efficiently.

Finally, printed material is more conducive to deep reading than the internet. When you read a book or article, you are more likely to focus on the content and absorb it deeply. This is because printed material is usually presented in a linear format, with a clear beginning, middle, and end. On the other hand, the internet is full of distractions such as pop-up ads, social media notifications, and hyperlinks. These distractions can make it difficult for researchers to concentrate and retain information.

In conclusion, while the internet is a valuable tool for research, printed material such as books and articles are still better sources of information. They are more reliable, focused, and conducive to deep reading. Therefore, I strongly believe that researchers should prioritize printed material over the internet when conducting research.

2. 独立写作-问题解决类

题目:Some people believe that the best way to solve environmental problems is to increase the cost of fuel for cars and other vehicles. Others believe that there are better ways to solve environmental problems. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

范文:

Environmental problems such as air pollution and climate change are major issues facing our planet today. While some people believe that increasing the cost of fuel for cars and other vehicles is the best way to solve these problems, others argue that there are better ways to address them. In my view, while increasing the cost of fuel may be a useful tool, it is not the only solution to environmental problems.

Those who support the idea of increasing the cost of fuel argue that it will discourage people from driving and encourage them to use public transportation or alternative modes of transportation such as walking or cycling. This, in turn, will reduce the amount of carbon emissions and other pollutants that are released into the air. Furthermore, the increased revenue from higher fuel prices can be used to fund research into alternative energy sources and other environmental initiatives.

However, there are several drawbacks to this approach. Firstly, it may disproportionately affect low-income families who rely on cars for transportation. Secondly, it may not be effective in reducing carbon emissions in the short term, as people may still need to drive for work or other essential activities. Finally, it may not be politically feasible, as it is likely to face opposition from powerful interest groups such as the oil and gas industry.

Therefore, I believe that there are better ways to solve environmental problems. For example, governments can incentivize the use of electric cars and other environmentally friendly modes of transportation by offering tax credits or other financial incentives. They can also invest in public transportation infrastructure and promote urban planning that prioritizes walking, cycling, and public transportation. Additionally, individuals can make small changes in their daily lives such as using reusable bags and water bottles, reducing meat consumption, and conserving energy.

In conclusion, while increasing the cost of fuel may be a useful tool in solving environmental problems, it is not the only solution. Governments and individuals can take a variety of actions to reduce carbon emissions and other pollutants, from promoting alternative modes of transportation to making small changes in their daily lives. By working together, we can create a cleaner, healthier planet for future generations.
