Abstract: Chronic diseases have become a global public health problem, and their prevention and management have become an important task of the global health system. Nursing plays an important role in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases. This paper elaborates on the role of nursing in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases through literature review, including assessment of chronic diseases, health education, drug treatment, nutritional support, psychological support, rehabilitation nursing, etc. The role of nursing in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases can not only improve the quality of life of patients, but also reduce hospitalization time and medical expenses, which is of great significance for improving the health level of the whole people.
