The chart above shows the proportion of different types of transportation used by people in a certain city in 2019.

As can be seen from the chart, the majority of people in the city prefer to use private cars as their means of transportation, accounting for 45%. Public transportation, including buses and subways, is the second most popular choice, with a proportion of 35%. Walking and cycling are used by 15% and 5% of people respectively.

The chart reflects the current situation of transportation in the city. It is clear that the city is facing a serious problem of traffic congestion, which has been caused by the increasing number of private cars. Although public transportation is widely available, it is still not the first choice for many people due to the inconvenience of waiting and crowdedness during rush hours.

In my opinion, the government should take measures to encourage people to use public transportation instead of private cars. For example, the government could provide more convenient and comfortable public transportation services and reduce the cost of tickets. Moreover, the government could also launch a campaign to promote the benefits of using public transportation, such as reducing air pollution and saving energy.
